What is Ozone Gel?
About Ozone Gel
Ozone has a short half-life and cannot be stored, making it difficult to store for long periods of time or to apply to the skin for long-term effects.
To overcome this drawback, ozone is dissolved in vegetable glycerin, enabling it to be stored for a long time and with a wider range of applications, resulting in "ozonized glycerin (ozone gel)."
Using this technology, which has been patented in Japan and the United States, a cream (ointment) containing ozone has been registered as a cosmetic for the skin and mouth, and is used not only in dentistry but also to treat skin problems such as atopic dermatitis and acne, as well as age spots, wrinkles, and sagging skin.
Research on ozone gel
Various studies are being conducted on the use of ozone gel to treat pressure ulcers, wounds caused by surgical procedures, and age spots, wrinkles, and sagging skin.

Bactericidal/antibacterial effects
In Showa Dental Journal 24, 103-109, 2005, it was recognized that ozone gel has a wide bactericidal spectrum, from bacteria to fungi.

Collagen production
A joint study with Osaka Dental University confirmed that ozone gel promotes collagen production.
Human gingival fibroblasts were exposed to media containing 0.5 ppm ozone. Data have been provided as means ± SD(n=5). **p<0.01, analyzed with a Student's t-test(vs. controls).

Hemostatic effect
It has been shown that ozone gel and ozone water exert a hemostatic effect equivalent to that of a hemostatic agent in a short period of time.
